Celebrating Bilingualism and food!
What an incredible turnout from our bilingual students and families at St James' Primary in Renfew. We celebrated our different languages, cultures and food. We were totally overwhelmed with the response.
Delicious food from Korea, China, India, The Philippines, Russia, Poland, Bulgaria, Pakistan, Romania, Hungary, Spain, France and many other countries graced our tables.
Our message was strong: that being bilingual is a gift and we welcome all nationalities and cultures to our Renfrewshire schools.
The EAL service would like to thank all the families who attended and contributed to the event. We hope to do more in the future.

Prizes for our young talented bilingual poets!
What a wonderful celebration of our talented bilingual students we had at the SECC!
SCILT's patron, and Scotland's National Poet, Jackie Kay, was there to give out the prizes to the many multilingual children from all over Scotland and to encourage them to use their voices and languages to create poetry.

We are so proud of all the pupils who took part in this year's event and competition. A special mention for Kacper, Laith, Ashley, Miriam, Lemuel and Stefan who read their prize winning poems so well and so confidently.
Thank you, dziękuję, شكرا ,谢谢, gràcies, Salamat, köszönöm!
